AirAsia Flights: Upgrading Your Baggage Allowance
Excitement about your trip made you pack more than the baggage weight limit?
We highly recommend you to upgrade your baggage if you would like to carry more stuff when travelling with us.
Read more below on:
Checked Baggage Upgrade
You may purchase additional baggage allowance online or at the airport. Save more when you pre-book baggage online before departing to the airport.
Each guest can purchase up to 60kg per way, per person. Should you have 60kg or more of checked baggage, we recommend that each checked baggage should not exceed 32kg.
More information on our checked baggage fees here.
How to upgrade your baggage allowance?
Checked Baggage
If you would like to upgrade your checked baggage from 20kg to 25kg or more, you can do so using Purchases, or chat with Bo up to 4 hours before your scheduled departure time, or you can also make this modification at the airport check-in counter.
You may upgrade your checked baggage allowance by chatting with Bo following these steps below:
Chat with Bo on AirAsia MOVE website/app.
Type ‘Purchase Add-ons (Seats, Baggage, Meals)’.
Select ‘Baggage’ to upgrade/add checked baggage allowance and follow instructions from Bo.
For more information on how to purchase add-ons, please refer here.
Excess Baggage Fees
Any guest exceeding their personal checked baggage or cabin baggage allowance will be charged for excess baggage fee at the prevailing rate on the day of travel. Excess baggage charges are quoted and billed in the departure country’s currency.
The pooling or sharing of checked and cabin baggage allowances is only allowed for those who are travelling on the same itinerary (booking number) and checking-in checked baggage at the baggage drop together.
Refer here for excess baggage fee.
