Hello! I'm TSgt Jeremy Mc Manus, the European Recruiting Operations Program Manager for Italy, Mediterranean, and Middle East. I have been in the Air Force 17 years and have been stationed in Washington State (Fairchild AFB), Illinois (Carpentersville Recruiting Office), and now Italy (Aviano AB). I’ve deployed for and directly contributed to Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle, and Operation Odyssey Dawn. I'm married to my high school sweet heart and have 15 month old daughter.
I'm originally from Washington State and in high school I was far from a "straight A" student. I had a lack of motivation and no interest in continuing education after graduation. This lack of preparation for my future resulted in a string of dead end jobs. I worked in restaurants, landscaping, and construction. After a year of hard work and nothing to show for it, I realized I wanted MORE. I wanted a better way to earn an INCOME, I wanted to have PRIDE in my job, and I needed create real OPPORTUNITIES for myself.
I found the nearest recruiting station and spoke with different recruiters from each branch, not including the Coast Guard. I chose the Air Force for two reasons; one, the accredited technical training for your career and two, the Community College of the Air Force. After completing the ASVAB and medical processing I was selected for Aerospace Maintenance Apprentice (2A5X4) on the KC-135 Stratotanker. I had no idea what that was going to entail at the time but I was ready to accept the CHALLENGE. After graduation from Basic Military Training I found a new PURPOSE, INDEPENDENCE, and SELF CONFIDENCE. I felt as though could take on the world! My first duty station is where I found myself, a 19 year old Airman, TRAVELING the world working on a $44M aircraft. It’s amazing, to watch an aircraft that you fixed roar down the runway and take off to meet the mission. After 10 years I was hand selected for a Special Duty assignment as an Enlisted Accession Recruiter. I was not excited about working behind a desk, however, the SPECIAL DUTY PAY lured me in. This is where I found a new PASSION, recruiting the best and brightest men and women to not only meet their individual goals but to serve proudly in the world’s greatest Air Force.

The AFSC List Building tool. If you have taken your ASVAB/PICAT and have your MAGE scores (Mechanical, Administrative, General, Electrical) you can enter them and get an idea of what you qualify for. While this is a useful tool please understand job qualification are also determined by other factors such as medical physical results, drivers license, education, etc.
Follow me on Facebook. You can contact me through messenger and find more information on the process for enlisting overseas.
Enlisting overseas is unique and can present unforeseen challenges; timelines will vary. From getting pre-qualified, your initial appointment, officially qualifying, swearing into the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), and shipping out to BMT, I will work with you to make sure this is a seamless process. Here are the 5 steps to enlisting overseas.
Step 1: Pre-qualified. I’m looking for disqualifying factors such as serious medical issues, law violations, drug usage, etc. I’ll send you a practice test you can take at home that will give you an idea on how you would score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test (ASVAB). If your pre-qualification and your practice test scores are good to go we will schedule your initial appointment.
Step 2: Initial Appointment. We will either meet person or if the geographical location does not allow, we can virtually meet over Zoom, WhatsApp, Google meet or Facetime. I will answer any questions you have, go over benefits, and find out how we can meet your goals while serving in the needs of the Air Force. Air Force needs include all jobs in the Mechanical Aptitude, Electronic Aptitude, Security Forces, and Special Warfare positions. While we do have +150 career fields available and book a wide variety regularly, we cannot guarantee or create positions based on applicant wants. It's a good to have an idea of what career field you'd like to serve, however, it's even more important to have an open mind. This is an amazing opportunity to explore different paths for your future.
Step 3: Officially Qualify. We will complete these items at your local/nearest installation and if unavailable, I will fly you to the closest capable installation. I will schedule you for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test (ASVAB) at the Education Center. Next, I will schedule your enlistment physical at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF). This physical consists of an overall examination that includes a vision, hearing, blood, and urine test. Once your medical is complete I will send your medical packet to headquarters to be certified. As soon as your medically qualified for enlistment, we will swear you into the Delayed Entry Program. We will take your ASVAB scores, results from your medical physical and compose a list of jobs that you are qualified for. Based on what you qualify for and what is available in the Air Force we will make your list of jobs. You will list 9 specific career fields and 1 aptitude index. Once you are selected for an Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC), we will find out the date you leave for Basic Military Training.
Step 4: Swearing into the Delayed Entry Program. You will be administered the Oath of Enlistment and swear into the DEP. From this point on you are a Future Airman of the United States Air Force! From this point you are a representative of the United States Air Force at your location and have the opportunity to attend events and help others work through their enlistment. I will also provide memory work, physical standards, and give you the tools necessary to be successful at BMT.
Step 5: Basic Military Training! You will be administered the final Oath of Enlistment into the United States Air Force, finalize all your documents, and ensure you have all your personal information. I will fly you to San Antonio, Texas (Lackland AFB) were your future begins! Let's GOOOOO!!!
