This very first workshop aims to bring together key researchers of the three participating institutions in Germany, Japan, and the US to identify research challenges and synergies. A focus is on the combination of machine learning and decision making, in particular on foundational aspects of discrete and structured learning.

Organizers: Alexander Martin (FAU/Fraunhofer IIS), Sebastian Pokutta (GT), Masashi Sugiyama (RIKEN-AIP)

March, 6th: Internal discussions among Fraunhofer-IIS/SCS, RIKEN-AIP, and ML@GT [only open to invited participants]

March, 7th: Workshop with talks and poster session (program) [open to public]

This workshop is sponsored and supported by GT TRIAD, GT ISyE, and the Machine Learning Center @ GT.
