Dedicated to the Community, Safety, and Growth of Uptown
We are a collective of Uptown residents from Winthrop, Kenmore, and Ainslie and our mission is to foster community, enhance public safety, and promote growth for both residents and businesses.
The Block Club is governed by a Board of Directors that creates and implements the strategic plan for our neighborhood, schools, streets, and businesses. The Board works closely with the 46th Ward Office, Chicago Police Department of the 2024 Beat, preservationists, business owners, realtors, developers, artists, and other block clubs and shareholders, to seek input on neighborhood matters and provide a strong sense of community in our vastly diverse area of Uptown.
The Ainslie Winmore Block Club is bordered by Argyle, Lawrence, Broadway, and Sheridan Road. Located in the heart of the Uptown Entertainment District, we represent 1,200 households and more than 150 businesses throughout the seven streets within our boundaries!
The Ainslie Winmore Block Club is a 501(c) 3 tax exempt charitable organization.

Joining the Ainslie Winmore Block Club is a fantastic opportunity to connect with neighbors and foster a sense of community.
Joining as a member of the block club, you'll have the first chance to participate in neighborhood events, collaborate on local projects, and share resources with other residents. The block club is dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and vibrant environment for everyone. Whether you're interested in organizing a street clean-up, hosting a potluck, or simply getting to know the people who live around you, the Ainslie Winmore Block Club offers a platform for building lasting relationships and making a positive impact in your neighborhood.
Block clubs are community members who have homes, apartments, cooperatives, and condos on the block and have organized with the community spirit to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Residents who form block clubs are concerned and care deeply about their communities. We share information, identify concerns, and act collectively to address those concerns for the good of all residents and businesses.
What can one block club do? A lot! A block club helps ensure that our seniors have the services they need to lead fulfilling lives. The block club helps our children travel safely to and from school, so that they have every opportunity to learn and succeed. A block club can improve the environment by organizing clean and green events along our streets, and plant and maintain new green spaces in empty lots. And a block club can provide a strong deterrent to gangs, guns, crime, and drugs. It's simple, a well organized and deeply committed community makes a safer and more enjoyable neighborhood for all. Please consider joining us today!
Our goal is neighborhood improvement through public safety and connection.
