The nation is separated from Verdon by an extensive mountain range which descends into a small area of medium elevation before gradually rising up to more ranges and then to agricultural lowlands which lead to the coast. There are four major rivers - the Wesland, Arcadia, Staffe and Norlan.
Ainslie is mostly moderate-high plateau/tablelands followed by agricultural lowlands and mountainous regions. There are four major geographical subdivisions, which include forests, ranges, plateaus and a lowland/coastal region. Ainslie is a majorly temperate nation in regards to its climate, but experiences cold and warm weather within its borders. Ainslie is split into six electorates (Wesland, Burnett, Manning, Dallama, Norlands and Lower Verd). Destruction of natural habitat, industrial development and urbanisation are the three major environmental issues facing the nation.

Most other species of flora and fauna are native to eastern Gael, or to Gael at large.
Government
Main Article: Government
Government
Ainslie is a modified constitutional republic, with Joseph Shirazi and Andrew Kenzai co-leading the state, who represent the legislative and the political sides of society. The Judicial Council has extraordinary powers, and acts as the constitutional and legal guardians of the state. The Judicial Council has a variety of different constitutional powers which make it a force to be reckoned with if the government is not acting the way it should be.
The federal government is separated into two branches:
In the Ahnslen Senate, there are 163 senators which are elected from single-member electoral divisions, known as districts. These are allocated to electorate on the basis of population. Elections for the Ahnslen Senate happen every four years, but it can be done at anytime with Judicial Council approval.
Ainslie's system uses preferential voting for all levels of government. Voting is compulsory for all citizens 18 years and over, with citizens 15+ being able to take a political knowledge test to recieve a vote earlier if they pass the test. The party with the most seats in the Ahnslen Senate will form government, but the people will elect a Prime Minister (Similar to how most nations elect Presidents). In cases were no party has majority support, parties must form a coalition to receive a majority. If this happens with a Prime Ministerial election, the Judicial Council has the right to appoint a Prime Minister. The Judicial Council has the right to dissolve a Parliament and/or Prime Minister and force an election immediately.
Politics
There are three major political groups that have the capability to form a government, either in the electoral or the federal domains.
In March 2015,Andrew Kenzai successfully won a federal election by forging a coalition between ACEGAD and LLST, and became the current Ahnslen Prime Minister.
Electorates
Ainslie has six electorates - Wesland (WSL), Lower Verd (LV), Norlands (NLD), Manning (MN), Burnett (BN) and Dallama (DL). Ainslie has no special territories. According to the constitution, electorates have the power to legislate on anything that is not specifically deemed as a federal area of legislation. Federal laws prevail and overrule over conflicting electoral legislation, to ensure consistency. An electorate is run by an electoral representatives office, whose representatives are elected by the people. These representatives then attend an electoral council, where they meet, vote and discuss on various matters regarding their electorates. At this forum, electorates may opt out of legislation, allowing citizens in that electorate not follow the electoral laws of different electorates in their own.
The Judicial Council also monitors the Electoral Council. Each electorate is run by a chief electorate representative (CER). CERs are generally aligned with parties, as federal representatives are. Each CER has their own Council of advisors, who are elected by the party the CER represents. The parties which CERs represent in each electorate are the following:
Foreign Affairs and Military
Recently, Ainslie's foreign relations have been a trifecta of militaristic neutrality, strong diplomatic measures and social responsibility. Ainslie is expresses a desire to expand relations in the Mesder Sea, but is committed to retaining its friendships with more culturally and ideologically alternative nations. In April of 2017, the Kirsdorf Agreement was signed, and Ainslie became a member of The Western Isles Climate Response Council. In 2017, Ainslie joined the Cooperative Union.
Ainslie supports international trade liberalisation, but is a cautious supporter of globalisation. This can be seen through the reluctance Ainslie has to signing onto multinational agreements, especially those in a military domain.
Ainslie has not currently signed any defence agreements, an unusual act by a capitalist liberal democracy. Ainslie is a strong supporter of multilateralism, but will not shy away from unilaterally acting if it is required. Ainslie maintains one of the largest international aid programs. The 2016 - 2017 Budget is reported to have 2.2% of GDP being sent to international aid.
Ainslie spends 2.9% of its budget on Defence.
Ainslie's armed forces are comprised of four sections: the Ainslie Regional Stability Force (ARSF) the Ainslie Aerial Sovereignty Force (AASF), and the Ahnslen Navy and Maritime Force (ANMF). A civilian unit, mainly comprised of ARSF reservists, known as the Ainslie Coastal Defence Unit, works with the ANMF. The combined numbers of these forces number 92,000 personnel (62,000 regulars and 30,000 active reservist or part time) as of 1 January 2017. The role of Commander in Chief is vested in the Head of State (currently Joseph Shirazi), who appoints defence chiefs based on candidates presented from the respective force. Standard procedures are done under the command of the chief and the government. In war time, the PM will publically lead a nation to battle, but the HOS has the true constitutional power to lead.

Language
Ainslie[/url] has two official languages, Ahnslen and English. Ahnslen is promoted as a language for the society, one that is used in public spheres. English, however, to allow other nations to communicate with the nation, is the language used for official documents and in the international domain. Most, if not all Ahnslens are at least bilingual in these two languages.
According to the 2015 census, Ahnslen is the only language spoken at home for nearly 90% of the population. When asked what language is used at their educational institutions (When relevant) respondents chose English at a rate of 81%. Due to Ainslie's immigration policies, other languages being spoken is very rare.
Religion
Ainslie has no state religion. This is protected by statue, but also through the theological law of the majority religion in the nation. These two reasons effectively prohibit the government from making any law to discriminate or support a certain religion. In the 2015 census, 71% of Ahnslens were counted as Whindist, with the next religions being Protestantism (13%), Catholicism (2%). The rest of the population either identified themselves as having no religion.
Since the unification of Ainslie set up the foundation for a Christian faith to thrive in Ainslie, and then the great inquisition of the Church of Ainslie, Whindism has grown to be the major religion in Ainslie. Whindin Churches are active in their political and social beliefs, standing up for what they do not believe in but also respecting the government. Churches have played a central role in education and welfare. For much of Ainslie's history, traditionalist Christian churches were the largest religious denominations. In the 20th century, these churches experienced a large drop in numbers. The strongest reason for this was the establishment and expansion of Whindism.
Ainslie has one of the highest levels of religious adherence in the world. In 2015, 73% of Ahnslens attended church on a weekly basis.
Culture
Main Article: Culture
Since unification, Ainslie has been heavily influenced by external culture, yet has kept it's own unique identity. The fusion of Ahnslen and outside culture creates a distinctive modern Ahnslen culture. Cultural influences can be traced to Verdon, Ostehaar and Noronica.
Media
Ainslie has no public broadcasters, but rather provides funding and becomes a shareholder in private institutions. This is particularly true for Ainslie Daily, commonly known as the major news outlet in Ainslie. The government has a 34% stake in the company. There are many Pay-TV services, with the major one being Prioview. There are numerous public, non for profit television and radio station. Each major city has at least one daily newspaper, and most regions have at least one electoral or regional newspaper.
Sport
About 30% of Ahnslens over the age of 15 regularly participate in sporting activities. Ahnslens, regardless of whether they play sport or not, tend to hold it in a positive light and are normally interested in it. Ainslie has two major sports, Cricket and Soccer. The Ainslie Cricket Federation (ACF) was able to generate high numbers in their junior leagues due to a switch from a more test cricket style game, to a twenty twenty format. Cricket is the major sport in all electorates but Lower Verd and Norlands, who primarily play soccer.
Ainslie is famous for hosting sports competitions, most notable the T20 HITSIX Cricket Competition and the Isles Premier League (IPL) Soccer/Football Competition.
