My philosophy of education is that children are the leaders of the future and need educators who believe in and support their goals and aspirations. I want to create a classroom in the future where students feel safe to express their opinions, ask questions, and learn from one another. I believe in integrating real-world experiences into lessons to prepare students for life outside of school such as in the work field or at home. As a teacher, I want to be a role model by not just teaching my students how to be "correct" but by also making mistakes alongside my students, encouraging curiosity, and fostering critical thinking through open discussions. Ultimately, I believe children should be taught both academic content and life skills while being open to new ideas and perspectives, helping them build confidence and the ability to face challenges.
I chose to be an elementary education major because I have a passion for education and working with the younger population. I want to be a role model and support children on their path to success.Â
