This bridge event aims to integrate techniques from the AI field with insights from clinicial practice. By combining expertise from both domains, the bridge will address critical challenges in effectively and safely integrating AI into medical settings. We invite submissions that explore the technical aspects or the clinical perspective of this integration. The following topics are examples, but we encourage a wide range of related contributions to AI for medicine and AI for healthcare.
Technical Focus:
Human-in-the-Loop Systems: Strategies for creating systems that enable AI to operate safely with human oversight, minimising the need for extensive supervision while ensuring robust performance.
Model Explainability and Interpretability: Approaches to make AI models more transparent and understandable for non-technical users, with a focus on improving clinicians' trust and acceptance of AI.
User-Friendly AI Interfaces: Design principles for interfaces that allow clinicians to interact with AI tools without requiring deep technical expertise, ensuring ease of use and integration into clinical workflows.
Clinical Focus:
Addressing Current Limitations: Insights into challenges faced by clinicians when integrating AI into practice, such as data quality, regulatory constraints, and the complexity of clinical workflows.
Barriers to AI Adoption: Exploration of factors that hinder the use of AI in clinical settings, including trust and usability.
Aligning AI with Clinical Needs: Proposals on how AI can be developed to better address real-word clinical challenges, ensuring that the technology meets practical requirements and enhances patient care.
