a) Journal Content

Your journal entries, mood logs, and notes are stored locally on your device and/or synced to your Google account if you enable cloud sync. We do not access, read, or store your personal journal content on our servers.

b) Audio Recordings (RECORD_AUDIO)

When you use the voice note feature, the app records audio through your device microphone. Audio is:

• Recorded only when you actively initiate a voice note

• Processed locally or via AI transcription services to convert speech to text

• Never shared with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes

c) Biometric Data (USE_BIOMETRIC)

The app offers an optional App Lock feature using your device's biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition). We do not collect, store, or transmit any biometric data. Authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system.

d) Internet Access (INTERNET)

Internet access is used for:

• AI-powered features such as journal chat, weekly recap, and transcription

• Google cloud sync (if enabled by you)

• No personal data is sold or shared with advertisers

e) Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)

We may send you local notifications for:

• Daily journaling reminders (if enabled)

• "On This Day" memory reminders

• Weekly AI recap summaries

You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely to:

• Provide and improve AI Journal features

• Generate AI-powered insights, recaps, and transcriptions from your entries

• Enable cloud backup and sync with your Google account

• Send you relevant in-app notifications

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your journal data is stored:

• Locally on your device by default

• In your personal Google account if you enable cloud sync

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

AI Journal may use the following third-party services to power certain features:

• Google Sign-In / Google Drive — for cloud sync

• AI/ML APIs — for transcription, journaling chat, and weekly recaps

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

5. Children's Privacy

AI Journal is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

• Delete your data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data

• Disable cloud sync at any time from app settings

• Opt out of notifications through your device settings
