Neu-Art Lab (Neural Engineering & AI-Art Laboratory) is seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a cutting-edge project on "Smartphone-based Generative 3D Oral Reconstruction." We aim to develop next-generation AI technologies by combining brain-inspired engineering principles with artistic generative capabilities. We are currently conducting an industry-academic collaboration project to develop technology for manufacturing sleep apnea treatment devices (MAD) using only smartphone images.Starting March 2026, the lab will be relocated to Seoul (or the Seoul metropolitan area).
I. Job Description
The successful candidate will lead the development of a precision 3D dental model reconstruction system using RGB footage from smartphones.
Generative 3D Reconstruction: Developing generative models to overcome smartphone capture limitations (e.g., severe occlusion, variable lighting, motion blur).
Structural Priors: Advancing dental structural prior models (e.g., DentBERT++).
Diffusion-based View Synthesis: Developing structural-conditional Diffusion models.
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS): Implementing and optimizing the Synthesis-Reconstruction Consistency Loop (SRCL).
No/Weak-pose Alignment: Researching geometric alignment techniques in the absence of camera pose information (e.g., utilizing DUSt3R).
II. Qualifications
A. Education:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
(degree holders or candidates expecting to graduate before the start date).
B. Essential Technical Skills (Experience in at least one of the following is required):
Generative Models: Deep understanding and research experience with Diffusion Models.
3D Vision: Research experience in Neural Rendering, Multi-view Geometry, or 3D Reconstruction.
(Common) Proficiency in Python and Deep Learning Frameworks (PyTorch, etc.).
C. Language & Leadership:
Ability to communicate fluently and write high-quality research papers in English.
Korean proficiency is a plus but not required for candidates with exceptional research capabilities.
Leadership skills to mentor and lead a multi-national research team under the PI's guidance.
D. Preferred Qualifications:
Women scientists and researchers are strongly encouraged to apply.
First-author publications in top-tier conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, MICCAI, etc.) or top SCI journals (JCR top 10%).
Hands-on experience with 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), NeRF, or Transformer architectures.
Self-driven mindset with the ability to design and execute research independently.
III. Conditions & Benefits
Salary: 60 Million KRW/year (Approx. $42,000 - $45,000 USD, negotiable based on qualifications/experience).
Incentives: Additional performance-based incentives for research achievements and project contributions.
Contract Duration: Initial 1-year contract.
Renewable based on performance and mutual agreement.
The exact appointment period is negotiable.
Start Date: February 1, 2026 (Negotiable, but early start is highly preferred).
Research Environment:
Access to top-tier computing resources including NVIDIA H100 and RTX A6000 clusters.
Full financial support for domestic/international conference travel and open-access publication fees.
IV. Application Instructions
