ORGANIZATION & PROJECTS
AIMS AND TOPICS OF THE AIG:
To provide an international network of experts in ankle surgery and arthroscopy focused on the chronic ankle instability (CAI). Improve and spread the knowledge on diagnosis, prevention and treatment of CAI. Develop multicenter studies on arthroscopic assessment and treatment for CAI (cadaveric studies, biomechanical assessments, clinical series, technical notes, literature reviews, consensus statements). Develop cadaveric courses on arthroscopic surgery for CAI.
ORGANIZATION OF THE AIG:
The AIG is an international open working group of active experts in the field of CAI and arthroscopy. Every year the AIG provides a manuscript for publication. The subject and the authors of the manuscript is defined yearly. All the members of the AIG are co-authors and participate in reviewing and correcting the manuscript.
A 2-days annual meeting is organized by one of the members with a program as follows:
- Lectures on the works of different experts during the past year.
- Presentations for the publications (previous manuscript, next manuscript)
- Hands-on cadaver workshop with technical demonstrations.
The Chairman of the AIG (2013-2017) is Stéphane GUILLO (founder of the AIG). The Vice-Chairman of the AIG is Thomas BAUER (co-founder of the AIG). The Chairman and the Vice-Chairman propose the annual work schedule, actively participate in the progression of the different projects and provide assistance to the hosting memberfor the organization of the annual AIG meeting. The secretary is Mark Glaze brook. The AIG shares strong relations with national and international orthopedic societies (ESSKA, ISAKOS, AANA, AOSSM, SFA, JSSF...)
