## AI Fridge Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how **Jack Huang**, the individual developer of **AI Fridge** ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the AI Fridge application.
### 1. Information We May Collect
#### A. Information You Provide or Create in the App
When you use AI Fridge, you may provide or create the following information:
* Ingredient lists, fridge contents, recipe data, preference settings, and other content you enter into the app.
* Photos that you upload or capture.
* Your email address and communication content if you contact us directly.
* Preferences we infer from this content, such as the cuisine styles you tend to cook.
#### B. Account, Service, and Transaction-Related Information
To provide the service, we or our third-party service providers may process:
* Anonymous user identifiers, account-related identifiers, or device/app-level identifiers.
* Subscription status, purchase status, and transaction-related information.
* Device tokens or messaging identifiers required for push notifications.
#### C. Device, Usage, and Diagnostic Information
When you use the app, we or third-party service providers may automatically process:
* Device model, operating system version, language, time zone, and app version.
* App launches, feature usage, interaction events, performance data, and crash/error data.
* Advertising data, device identifiers, and other related technical data used for ad delivery, ad measurement, fraud prevention, and frequency capping.
* IP address or coarse location information used by third-party services to estimate general geographic region.
### 2. How We Use Information
We may use the information above for the following purposes:
* To provide, maintain, and improve AI Fridge and its features.
* To analyze the names and content of recipes you save to identify their cuisine style, and combine this with your recipe saves, views, favorites, and cooking records so that AI-generated recipe suggestions better match your taste.
* To verify user identity, maintain service security, synchronize data, back up data, and troubleshoot issues.
* To provide subscriptions, purchases, and related customer support functions.
* To serve ads, measure ad performance, analyze usage, prevent fraud, and manage frequency capping.
* To comply with applicable laws and manage privacy choices and consent.
* To respond to your inquiries, feedback, or support requests.
### 3. Advertising, Analytics, and Privacy Choices
This app uses third-party services for advertising, analytics, and privacy management, including but not limited to:
* **Google AdMob** for ad serving, ad measurement, fraud prevention, and frequency capping.
* **Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)** for displaying privacy messages and collecting or managing privacy choices in applicable regions.
* **Firebase** for authentication, messaging, stability monitoring, analytics, or other service operations.
* **RevenueCat** for subscription and purchase status management.
Depending on applicable law, platform conditions, and your privacy choices, ads shown in the app may be:
* **Personalized ads**
* **Non-personalized ads**
In applicable regions, you can review or update your choices in the app under:
**Settings > System Info > Data Collection & Analytics > Privacy Options**
### 4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We may share necessary data with third-party service providers that help us operate the app, such as:
* Advertising and privacy management service providers
* Cloud infrastructure and backend service providers
* Subscription, payment, and transaction management providers
* Messaging, notification, and stability monitoring providers
* AI model service providers
**AI service providers:** To recognize ingredients, generate recipes, organize recipes you import from a link, run content safety checks, and identify the cuisine style of recipes you save, we send the necessary content (such as ingredient information, ingredient photos, and recipe names and content) through our own servers to AI model service providers, currently Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), OpenAI, and Groq. The content we send does not include your account identifier. These providers process the data on our behalf and according to our instructions. Under their API terms, they do not use it to train their models, but they may keep it for a short period to detect and prevent abuse.
We **do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense**.
However, in some jurisdictions, providing certain data to third parties for advertising, ad measurement, or related business purposes may be considered "sharing" or processing related to targeted advertising. If you are in an applicable region, you can manage those choices through the **Privacy Options** entry point described above.

### 5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to:
* Request access to the data we hold about you
* Request correction, deletion, or restriction of certain processing
* Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis
* Object to certain uses of data
* Request a copy of your data where applicable
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or an applicable U.S. state, you may manage relevant privacy choices through:
**Settings > System Info > Data Collection & Analytics > Privacy Options**
You may also manage certain privacy-related preferences through your device settings, such as notification permissions and other platform-level controls.
**Consent to and withdrawal from AI recipe analysis:** We only begin analyzing the recipes you save to identify their cuisine style after you have read and ticked your agreement to the "AI Recipe Disclaimer" (including section 11, "Third-party services") in the app. The app shows this disclaimer before you first use "AI Create Recipe", and no analysis takes place until you agree. If you are signed in, you can withdraw your consent at any time by turning off "AI recipe analysis" under **Settings > System Info > Data Collection & Analytics**; we will then stop the analysis and delete the cuisine styles already identified. Turning it back on resumes the analysis.
**Account deletion:** If you would like to delete your account and all of its data, please contact us by email (see section 10).
### 6. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Different categories of data may be retained for different periods. When data is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or otherwise handle it as required by law. The cuisine style identified for a recipe is stored with that recipe in your account. If you are signed in, you can turn off "AI recipe analysis" under Settings > System Info > Data Collection & Analytics; we will then stop the analysis and delete the cuisine styles already identified. They are also deleted when you delete your account.
### 7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, use, modification, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
### 8. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed primarily to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable legal age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action where required.
### 9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted directly on this page, and the version information and update date at the bottom of this page will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information.
