ExpenseTracker ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information.
The App requests camera permission to allow you to:
Capture photos of receipts directly within the app
Scan receipts for automatic expense entry
This permission is only used when you choose to take a photo and is never accessed without your explicit action
The App requests storage permissions to:
Save and access receipt images you've captured or uploaded
Store photos in your device's gallery (optional)
Account Information: Email address and authentication credentials (via Firebase Authentication)
Financial Data: Expense records, income records, receipt images, categories, and notes you create
Receipt Images: Photos you capture using the camera or upload from your gallery for expense tracking
Device Information: Device type, operating system version
Usage Data: App interactions and features used (via Firebase Analytics)
Technical Data: Crash reports and performance data
To provide expense tracking and management features
To process receipt images using AI technology (OpenAI) for automatic expense categorization
To store and sync your financial data across devices
To analyze app usage and improve functionality

Camera Usage: The camera is only activated when you explicitly choose to capture a receipt photo. We do not access your camera at any other time or in the background.
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
Firebase (Google): Authentication, database storage, cloud functions, and analytics
OpenAI: Receipt image processing and expense categorization (receipt images and extracted text are sent to OpenAI's API)
These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information.
Your data is stored securely using Firebase Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage
Receipt images are stored in Firebase Storage with secure access controls
All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard protocols
We implement appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your data is only shared with:
Firebase/Google services for app functionality
OpenAI for receipt processing features
You have the right to:
Access your personal data within the App
Delete your expense and income records through the App
Request account deletion by contacting us at enhemant@gmail.com
Opt-out of analytics collection
Revoke camera and storage permissions through your device settings (though this will limit receipt scanning functionality)
Your data is retained as long as your account is active
Upon account deletion, all your personal data is permanently deleted from our systems
We do not retain any data after account deletion
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may display advertisements in future versions of the App. This privacy policy will be updated accordingly to reflect any changes in data collection practices.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
