Through TrueLeap's case studies in the DRC, Ghana, and India, we examine how AI can leapfrog traditional barriers in education, enabling scalable and culturally relevant learning solutions. The study highlights real-world implementations of AI-driven learning platforms, collaborations with all the stakeholders in the ecosystem including educators and learners, policymakers and technologist to ensure AI fosters skill development, accessibility, and long-term impact across diverse learning environments.

Coaching is one of the most impactful practices to improve teacher skill and student outcomes, but it is very time intensive, with many barriers to ideal implementation. Nisa uses AI to reduce time spent on non-coaching tasks, provide support resources for coaches to give to teachers, and increase coach skill. The product aims to increase touchpoints that strengthen the coach-teacher relationship, and deepen one on one coaching sessions.

LearnLaunch Fund + Accelerator was created to support diverse entrepreneurs who drive equity, access, and outcomes in education and workforce upskilling. This project was developed as part of Professor Ying Xu's class at HGSE, "AI and the Developing Child" in Fall 2025 by group members Alex Sheehan, Dan Be Kim, and Srushti Jayaramu.
Office Ours is available as a local desktop application that is connected to a user’s Notion account. It’s integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4o model to provide tailored feedback on students’ lecture notes and encouragement to cultivate deeper connections with their teaching team. A knowledge base of lecture slides and the syllabus for AI and the Developing Child are stored locally to provide context-driven guidance, alongside the carefully scaffolded application prompting.

SummaRead
Harvard Graduate School of Education Students
SummaRead is an AI-enabled chatbot that assists student summarization by providing guiding questions, vocabulary resources, and assistance with chunking texts. Summarizing is a well-supported strategy for reading across grade levels but especially for understanding complex texts during middle school. We conducted a mixed-method pilot study with middle school students in Massachusetts that found that students using SummaRead felt more confident and engaged with the text they were presented, compared to a paper-based control group.
