Rahul Upadhyay received the engineering degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal, India, and the Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Signal Processing from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Jabalpur, India, in 2009 and 2016, respectively. Since late 2016, he has been working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala, India. His research interests include Biomedical Signal and Image processing, Soft Computing techniques and Brain Computer Interface.

He received B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madras University, India in 2002. He joined the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, United Kingdom as a graduate student and was awarded Master of Science in Communications, Control and Digital Signal Processing in 2003. In 2008, he was awarded the PhD degree for his research on Fountain codes for wireless communications. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, USA and Member of IET, UK. He serves as editor for several books and as Organizing/TPC Chair for IEEE/Springer International conferences. His research interests are in mathematical modeling, signal processing and AI techniques for next generation wireless systems and their applications.
