This two-day International Seminar organised by Educational Multimedia Research Centre, Pondicherry University, Puducherry in collaboration with Consortium for Educational Communication, New Delhi seeks to explore the possibilities of augmenting the scope of digital education in India and to reflect on the ethical, pedagogical and socio-technical challenges in its implementation. It also seeks to highlight the potential of Artificial Intelligence in transforming teaching, learning and research environments and the concomitant ethical concerns that lie at the centre of technological innovations. Papers / Abstracts that offer fresh perspectives, localized in specific contexts and capturing situated experiences and knowledge are welcome. Read more.

Pondicherry University is a central university established in 1985 by the Government of India. Located at Kalapet, Puducherry, the university is known for its lush green landscape, state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as its focus on research and industry- oriented programs. The university is accredited with an 'A +’ grade by NAAC. It has additional campuses in Port Blair (Andamans) and Karaikal. The University also has two constituent community colleges in Puducherry and Mahe. Plans to set up off-site campuses at Yanam and Lakshadeep islands are underway. The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) is an autonomous Inter-University Centre established in 1993 by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India to leverage electronic media and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for higher education. Functioning through a nationwide network of 21 Educational Multimedia Research Centres (EMRCs), the CEC coordinates the production and dissemination of curriculum-aligned digital content, video lectures, and open educational resources across undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines.
Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) Pondicherry University, is one of the new Media Centres in India set up in the year 2012 The Centre has well-equipped studios equipped for video production facilities. It has in the past actively engaged in the production of educational video documentaries, development of fresh MOOCs for swayam.gov.in, animation films, E-lectures, Distance Education programmes, Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) programs, and documentation of important enrichment lectures conducted in Pondicherry University.
