Call for Papers

Topics of Interest

AIDB workshop attempts to cover a broad range of topics related to "AI for Databases". The suggested topics of interest of the workshop include, but are not limited to:

  • AI technologies, (e.g., deep learning, reinforcement learning, active learning)

  • Autonomous database management systems

  • AI-enhanced system components (e.g., optimizer, storage, indexes)

  • AI-enhanced workload management and scheduling

  • AI-enhanced resource provisioning and reclamation

  • AI-enhanced fast data (e.g., streaming and time series) processing and analytics

  • AI-enhanced database systems on new hardware

  • AI-enhanced database systems in the cloud

  • AI-enhanced data exploration, discovery, and integration

  • AI-enhanced querying

  • AI-enhanced database applications (e.g., healthcare, finance, surveillance)

Submission Guidelines

AIDB 2021 follows the VLDB submission guidelines. To minimize the biases in the evaluation process, we will use CMT conflict management system. All the authors of a submission must declare their conflicts before the paper submission deadline. The submitted papers are judged for quality and relevance through single-blind reviewing. Therefore, authors must include their names and affiliations on the submitted paper.

We welcome thought provoking papers that fall under the following two categories:

  • Regular papers (short papers of at least 6 pages and long papers up to 12 pages, excluding bibliography) that present complete research results

  • Extended abstracts (up to 4 pages) on preliminary results that can trigger more discussions in the workshop

The authors must append the category tag as a SUFFIX to the title of the paper. For example, "Designing AI-enhanced Database Systems (Extended Abstracts)". This must be done both in the paper file and in the CMT submission title.

At least one author of every accepted regular paper is expected to attend the workshop and give an oral presentation about the paper. Extended abstracts will be presented in the form of poster/demo/short talks, depending on the workshop schedule.
