My name is Aidan O'Brien. I earned a BS in Biology from the University of Kentucky. Now I am a PhD candidate at the University of Miami working in Dr. Chris Searcy's lab as I progress toward a Ph.D.
My general research interests are herpetology and conservation biology, with an emphasis on salamander ecology and population modeling.Â
I currently work on two primary research projects: a broad herpetofaunal conservation survey project in the Everglades and a modeling study of a federally endangered population of California tiger salamanders (Ambystoma californiense).
Some previous projects I have worked on include a spatial capture-recapture model of lungless salamanders in Central Kentucky, snake fungal disease monitoring in Kentucky's Bluegrass Region, and a habitat preference study of Peromyscus mice.
