AI Chess Coach (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is developed to help players improve their chess skills through an interactive chessboard, Stockfish-powered suggestions, and AI coaching conversations. Your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
The App does not require you to create an account and does not collect personal identifiers such as name, email, or phone number.
However, the following technical and gameplay data may be processed:
Gameplay Data: FEN positions, move history, and chat prompts you send to the AI.
Device Information: Basic anonymous data such as device type, operating system, and app version (used for debugging and performance monitoring).
Network Requests: The App sends requests to external services (e.g., Stockfish API for move suggestions, Gemini API for AI chat responses). These services may log your requests according to their own privacy policies.
We use the data described above solely to:
Provide chess move validation, hints, and AI coaching.
Improve the accuracy and reliability of chess analysis.
Debug errors, monitor performance, and enhance the user experience.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties.
The App relies on third-party services:
Stockfish Online API – for chess move calculation and engine recommendations.
Google Gemini API (Generative AI) – for natural language responses and coaching explanations.
These services process the input you provide (such as chess positions and chat text) in order to generate responses. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for more information.
The App does not store your personal data permanently on our servers.
Gameplay data (FEN, move history, chat logs) is processed temporarily in memory during your session.
External APIs may retain logs as per their own policies, but we do not control or persist this data.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
We take reasonable measures to protect data in transit (via HTTPS) and to minimize the amount of information shared externally. However, no system can guarantee 100% security.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access or delete data we have about you.
Request clarification on how your data is processed.
Opt out by uninstalling the app (no data remains on our side after removal).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the App or on the distribution platform (e.g., Google Play). Please review it periodically.
