Chat data: Text messages you send to AI companions (required to generate replies and maintain context).
Voice data: Voice recordings when you send voice messages or use voice calls.
User memories: Facts you share (for example, favorites, job, important dates) that the AI remembers.
Account information: Email address when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
B. Automatically collected data
Device information: Device model, OS version, app version, and general diagnostics.
Usage data: Session duration, features used, and interaction patterns (via Firebase Analytics).
Purchase data: Subscription status (processed by Apple; we do not store payment card details).
How We Use Your Information
Provide the service: Generate AI chat replies, voice transcription, text-to-speech, and personalized companionship.
Personalization: Remember your name, preferences, and relationship progress.
Cloud backup: When you sign in, sync your relationship data across devices.
Improve the app: Fix bugs, analyze crashes (Firebase Crashlytics), and improve features.
Subscriptions: Manage premium access via Superwall and Apple In-App Purchase.
Safety: Detect prohibited content where applicable.
Third-Party AI and Cloud Services
Before any chat or voice data is sent to third-party AI services, the app shows an in-app disclosure screen and asks for your explicit consent. You can decline or revoke consent at any time in Me > AI data sharing, and existing local chats remain on your device.
DeepSeek (DeepSeek AI - deepseek.com)
Data sent: Chat messages, conversation history, saved memories, onboarding quiz answers, companion context, and your display name.
Purpose: Generate AI chat replies and extract memories from your messages.
Transmission: Encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
Deepgram (deepgram.com)
Data sent: Voice recordings from voice messages and voice calls; text for spoken replies.
Purpose: Speech-to-text transcription and text-to-speech for voice features.
Transmission: Encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
Google Firebase (firebase.google.com)
Data sent (when signed in): Profile, chat history, memories, relationship progress, companion state.
Purpose: Encrypted cloud backup, analytics, crash reporting
Note: Cloud backup of chat data only occurs when you are signed in and have granted AI data sharing consent.
These providers process data on our behalf for the purposes above and are contractually required to protect your information.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information only as long as needed to provide the service.
Delete account: Me > Delete account removes your profile and cloud data from our active databases.
Revoke AI consent: Me > AI data sharing > Turn off stops new data from being sent to DeepSeek and Deepgram and pauses cloud backup.
Local chat history remains on your device until you delete the app or clear data.
Your Choices and Rights
AI data sharing consent: Required before chat or voice data is sent to DeepSeek or Deepgram. Manage in Me > AI data sharing.
Sign out or delete account: Available in the Me tab.
Ad personalization (Android): Me > Privacy choices (UMP consent).
