The Advanced Imaging and Artificial Intelligence (AIAI) Lab, based at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, leads cutting-edge research at the intersection of computational imaging and artificial intelligence. Our team includes experts from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), and the Kyungpook National University (KNU), making a strong collaborative foundation.

We develop intelligent imaging solutions for biomedical, agricultural, and industrial applications by integrating advanced imaging technologies with artificial intelligence. Our work incorporates modalities such as high-resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT) for 2D and 3D cross-sectional imaging, real-time portable ultra-detailed microscopic visualization, and fully automated high-throughput whole-slide imaging, together with machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), computer vision, and smart sensing.
