The workshop aims to bring together academic researchers, industry practitioners, and financial experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges of applying AI to address key developmental problems faced in Africa. The topics for the workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:
Demystifying the myths around LLMs
Optimizing LLM output
Data extraction techniques for documents including low-resourced languages
Natural Language Processing (NLP) for African languages.
AI solutions focused on the banking sector covering areas such as fair lending, fraud detection, financial inclusion, and tools to establish creditworthiness with limited data.
New benchmark datasets to facilitate AI Research in Africa.
Synthetic Data techniques for enhancing data availability
AI methods for secured data storage
Design pipelines for multiple data silos
Format: Extended abstracts (4 pages excluding references) or short papers (6 pages excluding references)
