We plan to accept non-archival papers, which will be hosted on our website, and to offer opt-in archival Springer Nature proceedings for relevant papers, which will be published in Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS). All submissions should be in PDF format and made through OpenReview submission portal. Submissions must be anonymized following AAAI guidelines, but a preprint policy will not be enforced.
Authors are invited to submit papers of 4 (short) or 7 (long) pages, with unlimited pages for references and appendices. In line with the AAAI policy, camera-ready versions of papers will be given one additional page of content. It should follow the AAAI template style, which can be found here. The OpenReview submission link is https://openreview.net/group?id=AAAI.org/2025/Workshop/AI4Research.
We invite submission of full-length and short-length papers across two different tracks (within any areas: Social Science, Finance, Natural Science, Medicine, Climate, etc):
General Track:
Challenges and solutions for autonomous research
SOTA algorithms for each research stage
Scientist accessibility and AI model collaboration
Social impact and ethical considerations of AI in scientific research
Dataset & Evaluation Track:
New datasets and evaluation metrics for knowledge-grounded autonomous research
The research presented in these papers should be substantially original. Regardless of their length, all submissions will undergo a single-track review process. All submissions must be anonymous for double-blind review. No author information should be included in the papers, and self-references that identify the authors should be avoided or anonymized. We expect each paper to be reviewed by at least three reviewers. To encourage higher quality submissions, we will offer Best Paper Award(s) and Best Reviewer Award(s) based on nominations by the reviewers and extensive discussions among the chairs. Accepted papers will be presented as posters by default, and outstanding submissions will also be selected for oral or spotlight presentations.
According to the AAAI workshop guidelines, we do not encourage the re-submission of already-published papers, but you are allowed to submit ArXiv pre-prints or those currently under submission. Moreover, work presented at the main AAAI conference should not appear in a workshop, including as part of an invited talk. Please indicate conflicts of interest for all authors on your paper. Accepted papers may opt for either an in-person presentation or forgo the opportunity for an onsite presentation. If your paper gets accepted and you plan to publish it at Springer Nature, please use the official Springer Nature format to prepare your paper for the camera-ready stage and follow the Book Authors' Code of Conduct.
Posters are 30"x 40" and can be portrait or landscape orientation.
