Lluis Vives (1493–1540) was a Valencian scholar and Renaissance humanist who promoted his insight into early medical practice and natural phenomena and pioneered relevant perspectives on emotions, memory and learning. He is considered the father of modern psychology and believed that the best and distinct part of the human wits is the ability to understand, remember, reason, evaluate and judge the facts and the world from our limited senses.
