Title: Inverse problems in argumentation
Abstract: Formal argumentation theory has developed several models allowing to represent and assign acceptability status to arguments, or even rank them. Some of these models incorporate additional information from the agents (eg. preferences or values) and/or can be parametrized by the designer to fine-tune the reasoning machinery. We are thus dealing with families of models. In the inverse perspective, we start from argumentative 'observations' and seek to identify the model and/or parameters these observations can result from. In this talk I will present some work in this trend, and discuss some of the questions raised by these approaches.
