The department of Philosophy and Religious Studies invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in STS, empirical neuro ethics, or ethics of AI at the Neuro Computational Ethics Research Group, in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, beginning January 2027.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• developing and experimentally testing VR simulations for moral decision making

• broadly promoting AI ethics scholarship

• The position entails a specific research agenda that aligns with activities described in Dr. Veljko Dubljevic’s NEH AI Center grant.

• The successful candidate will also assist with scholarly publications on the ethics of Self-Driving Labs, teach one or two courses in AI Ethics and pursue a research agenda in this domain and other forms of AI and be guided by Dr. Dubljevic.

• A presentation given once per semester will summarize progress in this arena and should result in one or more scholarly publications.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $48,079 @ 9months
