1. Introduction 

Abhi Labs ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle, collect, and use information when you use the AI QR Barcode Scanner: Create application (the "App"). Our primary goal is to provide a fast, secure, and intelligent scanning utility while keeping your personal data as local and private as possible.

2. Data Storage and Local Processing 

The core functionality of the App is built on a local-first architecture:

• Scan and Creation History: All data you scan, create, or mark as a favorite is stored strictly locally on your device's internal database. We do not maintain external servers to store, view, or back up your scan history.

• Image Persistence: Images of scanned or generated codes are saved directly to your device's internal storage. We do not upload your images or files to any external servers.

• AI Contextual Analysis: The App uses on-device machine learning (via Google ML Kit) to process and verify the safety of scanned codes (such as URLs or payment links) in real-time. This processing happens entirely on your device.

3. Permissions and How We Use Them 

To provide specific features, the App requests the following on-device permissions. This data is not collected, transmitted, or stored by Abhi Labs:

• Camera & Flashlight: Required to scan QR codes and barcodes in real-time.

• Location (Fine/Coarse): Required by the Android operating system solely to facilitate connecting to WiFi networks when you scan a WiFi QR code. We do not track, collect, or store your physical location.

• WiFi State: Required to automatically connect your device to the network specified in a scanned WiFi QR code.

• Vibrate: Used to provide haptic feedback upon successful scans or actions.

• Internet: Used to process external links, verify data context, and serve advertisements.

4. Third-Party Services and Data Collection 

While Abhi Labs does not collect your personal data directly, the App integrates third-party services that may collect device and usage information according to their own privacy policies:

• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements. AdMob automatically collects data such as your device's Advertising ID, IP address, and interaction metrics to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.

• Google ML Kit: Used for the underlying barcode detection and decoding logic.

5. European Economic Area (EEA) and UK Users (GDPR) 

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

• Legal Basis for Processing: We process your data based on your explicit consent (for personalized advertising via Google AdMob) and our legitimate interest in providing and maintaining the App's core functionality.

• Consent Management: Upon opening the App, EEA and UK users will be presented with a Consent Management Platform (CMP) message. You have the right to consent to, or decline, the use of your Advertising ID for personalized ads.

• Your Rights: You have the right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you; the right of rectification; the right to object; the right of restriction; the right to data portability; and the right to withdraw consent.

• Exercising Your Rights: Because Abhi Labs does not store your data on external servers, you can exercise your right to erasure by deleting your local scan history within the App or by uninstalling the App. To manage your advertising consent, you can adjust your preferences via your device's system settings (e.g., "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in Android settings).

6. California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA / CPRA) 

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, grants you specific rights regarding your personal information.

• Information Collected: In the preceding 12 months, the App, through third-party SDKs (Google AdMob), has collected the following categories of personal information: Identifiers (IP address, device Advertising ID) and Internet or other electronic network activity information.

• Purpose of Collection: This information is collected solely for the business purpose of serving advertisements and analyzing ad performance.

• Right to Know and Delete: You have the right to request what personal information is collected and to request the deletion of your personal information. As noted, Abhi Labs does not hold this data; it is processed by Google AdMob. You can clear your local App data by uninstalling the App.

• Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: Under the CCPA, the sharing of device identifiers with ad networks to serve personalized ads may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You have the right to opt out of this. You can exercise this right by opting out of ad personalization in your Android device's Google settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads > Delete advertising ID / Opt out of personalized ads).

7. Data Retention and Deletion 

We provide multiple ways for you to delete the data associated with your use of the App:

• App Data (Local): Because your scan history, generated codes, and settings are stored purely locally, you have full control over your data. You can delete individual items or clear your entire history directly within the App's History tab. Uninstalling the App or clearing the App's storage via your device's system settings (Settings > Apps > AI QR Barcode Scanner > Storage > Clear Data) will also permanently delete all associated local data and images.

• Advertising Data (AdMob): The Google AdMob SDK collects device identifiers (such as your Advertising ID) to serve ads. You can delete, reset, or opt-out of this data collection directly through your Android system settings at any time by navigating to Settings > Privacy > Ads and selecting Delete advertising ID or Reset advertising ID.

8. Children's Privacy 

Our App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your territory). If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy 

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
