Privacy policy — AI Message Polisher

Last updated: 19 August 2026

AI Message Polisher (“the extension”) rewrites message drafts you already typed. You choose which model runs.

What we collect

The extension does not operate an account, analytics SDK, or our own rewrite server. We do not receive your drafts.

Where rewriting happens

On-device (default)
The draft is passed to Chrome’s built-in Gemini Nano model on your computer. Chrome may download model files from Google as part of the browser. The extension does not upload the draft.

Cloud providers (optional)
If you pick OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, or a custom endpoint, the extension sends the draft (plus tone/length instructions) to that provider so it can return a rewrite. Those requests use your API key. Keys are stored in this browser (chrome.storage.local) and used from the extension background worker, not from the website page.

Disable cloud by setting the provider back to Chrome on-device.

Permissions

Data stored on your device

Settings and API keys stay in local extension storage. Draft text is not written to disk by the extension.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
