Welcome to Offline AI Girlfriend (the "Application" or "App"), provided and maintained by Nachiket ("we", "us", or "our"). We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our users ("you").

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, where it is stored, and your rights and choices regarding your personal data when using Offline AI Girlfriend.

Overview & Core Privacy Promise

The core feature and foundational architecture of Offline AI Girlfriend is designed around on-device, local processing:

• Your conversations and chat messages are processed and kept 100% locally on your device.
• The AI language model runs locally on your device using native CPU inference (llama.cpp).
• We do NOT upload, read, transmit, monitor, or store your chat messages, prompts, or AI girlfriend responses on any remote server or cloud database.

Information We Collect

To provide core app functionality, user authentication, and model delivery, we collect the following minimal data:

A. Data Stored Strictly Locally On Your Device

• Chat Conversations & History: All conversation messages, prompts, and timestamps remain within your device's local application memory and sandbox storage.

• User Preferences & Setup Data: Your chosen display name/nickname, greeting preferences, and onboarding progress are stored locally using Android Jetpack DataStore.

• AI Model Files: The quantized model weights (~2.15 GB) downloaded during onboarding are stored in your device's private app storage.

B. Data Transmitted to Remote Servers

• Mobile / Phone Number: Collected during onboarding or account setup to identify your user session and limit concurrent device activations (maximum 2 devices per account). This is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our backend authentication endpoint.

• Device Model & Hardware Information: Basic device information (such as Android device model/manufacturer, e.g., Build.MODEL, OS version) is transmitted alongside your phone number to manage device activation limits and ensure compatibility with local inference.

• Google Account Information (When using Sign-In with Google): If you choose to sign in via Google, we may receive your basic Google account profile information (such as your Google User ID and email address) strictly for authentication and account verification.

• Push Notification Token: If you enable push notifications, a unique Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token is generated by your device so our system can deliver notifications (such as character greetings or updates).

• Download & Network Requests: When downloading the AI model weights or remote assets (such as high-resolution character photos), standard network request headers (e.g., IP address, user agent) are processed by hosting/CDN providers (such as Hugging Face or Cloudflare) to deliver files securely.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

Authentication & Device Verification: To verify your account, prevent fraudulent abuse, and enforce device limits (up to 2 devices per user).
AI Model & Content Delivery: To download model weights and premium character content over HTTPS.
Push Notifications: To send reminders, romantic check-in notifications, and character updates if you grant notification permissions.
App Functionality & Local Personalization: To personalize greetings and AI interaction using your preferred name on your device.
Billing & Subscriptions (Where Applicable): Google Play In-App Billing handles all financial transactions. We never receive or store your credit card or financial billing details.
Third-Party Services & SDKs

The App may integrate third-party services that process information in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

• Google Play Services: Used for app distribution, Google Sign-In, and in-app purchases/subscriptions.

• Firebase / Google Cloud (Firebase Cloud Messaging & Backend Services): Used for push notifications and account backend management.

• Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers & D1 Database): Used as our secure, encrypted backend API to verify device limits and mobile number authentication.

• Hugging Face / Content Delivery Networks: Used to host and deliver the AI model file over HTTPS.

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties or data brokers.

App Permissions & Justification

The Application requests the following Android permissions:

• INTERNET: Required to download the local AI model weights file (~2.15 GB), authenticate your account, receive push notifications, and retrieve optional premium content.

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC: Used to run a stable background/foreground download service with a persistent notification so model downloads do not terminate unexpectedly.

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE: Used during on-device AI model generation to prevent Android's Out-Of-Memory (OOM) killer from terminating active local inference.

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: (Android 13+) Used to display notifications for model download progress and character messages. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

Data Retention & Deletion

• Local Data: You can delete all your conversations, preferences, and downloaded models at any time by clearing the App data in your Android Settings (Settings > Apps > Offline AI Girlfriend > Storage > Clear Data) or by uninstalling the App.

• Account & Remote Data: If you wish to delete your phone number or account information stored in our backend, you may contact us at the email address provided below with your request. We will process data deletion within 30 days.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to safeguard your personal data:

• All external API and download communications are encrypted via Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).

• Local conversation inference occurs in private application sandbox memory, isolated from other apps on your device.

• While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy (COPPA & Age Restrictions)

Offline AI Girlfriend is intended strictly for general audiences and adult users (aged 18 and older, or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction). The App is NOT directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16/18 depending on local laws). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to promptly remove such data.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or Google Play Developer Policy updates.

Any updates will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
