What is it: internal Caltech workshop on how machine learning & data-driven methods can be applied to the physical sciences (physics, astronomy, low-level biology, chemistry, materials, etc.).
When is it: August 1st, 2018, 9am - 2:30pm.
Where is it: Beckman Institute Lecture Room.
What's in it for data-driven researchers: get a global view of technical problems faced by researchers working in the physical sciences, and get a better understanding of the challenges faced by them that are not well addressed by existing data-driven approaches.
What's in it for domain experts: get a global view of data-driven methods that may be applicable to your research. See how methods that work in other domains may be transferred to yours.
