The prompt box is similar to a search engine, but ChatGPT brings back answers even if they are wrong--because it generates text.
For each thread that you start, ChatGPT remembers your prompts and its answers. This means that you modify the responses by modifying your prompts.
Just like Google/Bing, your results will change as you modify your prompts.
The better your prompt, the better your result (Garbage in, Garbage Out)

ChatGPT will do the following formatting:

Bullet points
Numbered lists
Tables
Charts
Diagrams
Infographics (These generally don’t work because the linked material was prior to 2021).
Paragraphs
You can ask ChatGPT to hyperlink sources. (These don’t always work due to the data set it uses is prior to 2021).
