AI Expense Tracker Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AI Expense Tracker ("the App"), developed by Setups Works and created by Nitheesh Rajendran, collects, uses, and protects your information.

AI Expense Tracker is an offline-first personal finance application designed to automatically track expenses while respecting your privacy.

1. Information Collection and Usage

SMS Permissions

To automate expense tracking, the App requests the READ_SMS and RECEIVE_SMS permissions.

The App scans only SMS messages related to financial transactions, such as debit alerts, credit alerts, account balance updates, and bank transaction notifications.

All SMS processing takes place entirely on your device. Raw SMS messages, transaction details, and financial records are stored only in a local SQLite database on your device. The App does not upload, transmit, collect, or share your SMS messages or financial information with our servers or any third party.

The App ignores one-time passwords (OTPs), promotional messages, spam, and personal conversations.

Financial Information

Your expenses, budgets, savings goals, subscriptions, and financial records are stored locally on your device.

We do not maintain any servers or databases containing your financial information, account balances, or transaction history.

Deleting the App or clearing its storage permanently removes all locally stored financial data.

AI Assistant (Aria)

The App includes an optional AI assistant called Aria.

If you choose to use Aria, you may provide your own Groq API key. The API key is securely stored on your device using encrypted storage.

When using the AI assistant, conversation prompts and selected spending categories are sent directly to the Groq API for processing. No personal identifiers such as your name or bank account number are intentionally included in these requests.

2. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

Google AdMob may collect certain information including:

• Advertising ID

• Device model and operating system

• Language settings

• IP address for location-based advertising

You can manage advertisement personalization through your Android device settings.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

All application data is stored locally on your device.

You can permanently delete all stored data by:

• Clearing the App's storage from Android Settings, or

• Uninstalling the App.

The App does not require user registration or account creation, and we do not maintain user accounts.

4. Children's Privacy

AI Expense Tracker is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that such information has been collected, it will be removed where applicable.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
