What is the duration of the project?
Production started at the beginning of October and the project is expected to run until the end of April. Please keep in mind that end dates are flexible and subject to change.
When does production start?
After the training, and based on your score you will be invited to Live Q&A call. After this call we will send out a link to the FTS studio and access instructions to begin processing tasks.
Is this a 7 days a week project?
As a freelancer you will set your own schedule, therefore the number of hours and days worked will be based on your availability
How many days do I have to wait between phases?
This is the timeline we follow throughout the project. Take into consideration that the timeline can vary according to the amount of responses and completion we might have. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Step One: Selection: Once you are selected after the sourcing process, you receive a welcome email from us with the next steps and our guidelines. Immediately after this, you are assigned to the first training you need to complete.
Step Two: Training: Once you complete the training, we run a review to see who passed. If you have passed the training, you will receive a communication inviting you to participate in our Live Q&A session, where we will explain the next steps and all the processes to follow. The attendance to this session is paid at your hourly rate. If you cannot attend the session, you will not be paid for the hour. This phase can take up to one week.
Step Three: Production: After the Q&A session, you will receive a new communication with the recording of the session. This email will inform you that you have been assigned to production.
Take into consideration that the tasks are not assigned to each particular contributor, and are in a pool for all contributors from the same domain to access them.
Every stage of the project will be communicated to you by email, so if you haven’t received a communication yet, it might be because the team is still reviewing scores from the training. If, at some instance, you don’t pass the training you will also be informed via email.
Will I get paid for my training?
Yes, all training sessions will be paid at the standard hourly rate
How will I get paid?
Hyperwallet. Please go to this link for more information about Hyperwallet.
How to create a Payout wallet? How to see my earnings?
You will receive an automated notification once you can activate your account for payouts after your first invoice. Please note that this notification will be sent on the day the funds are released into your Hyperwallet account.
Is there going to be another method of payment besides HyperWallet?
No, the only payment method use in this project is Hyperwallet. However, we will inform you how to use this method.
Is it a weekly payout or not?
Payments will be processed twice a month with 30 day payment terms.
Is there any type of contract that will be signed?
NDA/Contracts were signed as part of the application process. Any questions regarding NDAs or contract, should be directed to the sourcing team
How will payments be processed?
Payment will be processed through Hyperwallet in the intervals laid out in the calendar above.
How will I be compensated for attending the Q&A session, is our attendance recorded?
Attendance is recorded, and it will be paid according to your country’s established hourly rate.
How will this job be compensated?
Project Marvel offers attractive hourly rates based on the number of quality-approved tasks you complete. With an estimated Average Handling Time (AHT) of 40 minutes for Makers and 10 minutes for Reviewers, you can efficiently manage your workload and maximize your earnings.
How will the pay be calculated? Is it as per the minutes I work? What if the task doesn't pass the QA? Will I get paid?
Compensation is calculated based on different aspects, such as the time of completion, the amount of tasks, and the acceptance rate you have. You will be paid based on the AHT estimation established of 40 min for Makers (10 minutes for Reviewers/QC), as you need to be within target. Additionally, the task will be subject to 2 tiers of review. If the review fails at either stage, that time (around 40 min for Makers or 10 min for Reviewer/QC) will be reduced from the total accumulated accepted time and tasks.

The attendance to this session is paid at your hourly rate.
What happen if I didn’t receive the training communication?
First, please check your spam folder to see if the email is in there. If you still cannot find it, you can contact our team using this form, and they will follow up with you.
What if I complete the training but can’t access FTS?
You'll need to wait until we assign you to FTS, which typically happens after the Q&A session.
What happens if I miss the Live Q&A Session?
You will still receive a recording of the session & be moved to the Production Phase. However, you won’t get paid for the session attendance.
What happens after I complete the Q&A Session?
After the Q&A session, you will receive a new communication with the recording of the session. This email will inform you that you have been assigned to production.
You will be required to complete the task using FTS Studio for this project. You will be provided login instructions and details on how to navigate the tool once tasks are assigned to you.
I have trouble logging into FTS.
Try using the OTP (One-Time Password) option to receive a login code to your email, or use the "Don't remember your password?" option to reset it. Be sure to check your spam folder if these emails are not coming to your inbox.
I tried the troubleshooting and I still cannot access FTS. What can I do?
Please reach out to our support team at: community_support@telusinternational.ai
Where's the link to the FTS website?
The link to the FTS tool was shared in an email communication. But you can also access it from this link.
Will the guidelines provided in the training course be available during the project?
Yes. You can access them through the left panel on the FTS app. Here are the links again as well: Maker Guidelines, Reviewer Guidelines.
Would you have a style guide for writing?
We don’t have a specific style guide. There are specifics that are outlined in the guidelines, regarding how a prompt, response, and explanation should look.
What happens if I go over the 40 min per task average? For instance, what happens if my average is 60 min per task?
Not a problem, this is expected as the handled time is an average of the total task. We are asking all to focus on quality vs quantity.
How many times can a prompt be returned to the creator for amendments?
Based on the current workflow, prompts can be sent back for rework once.
Do you have reviewers to review the quality of the tasks?
Yes, each task will go through a 2-tier quality inspection.
Is there any chance that I can be promoted to the review team?
Yes! The Project Marvel team is always on the lookout for top performers to promote as reviewers. Your eligibility will be determined by the quality of your work after transitioning to production.
What level of detail is needed?
Take into consideration the public you’re explaining the topic to are people with a level of knowledge of the domain. Prompts should include questions that someone might naturally ask about an image, even if the answer isn't obvious. Responses should only mention information that can be seen in the image, found in the background context, or discovered through research. Explanations should be detailed enough that they outline all assumptions required to come to the answer.
How complex should the prompts be?
Complexity as such does not refer ONLY to prompt’s complex reasoning attribute, complexity ties in with both prompt and the flow of the explanation. The intent is to utilize the domain expertise and enhance the explanation to support the answer and the prompt, referring back to the image.
Is there a minimum word requirement for the explanation part?
There is no minimum or maximum of words for the explanation. However, it should be long enough to cover a complete explanation of the response given, and short enough that it doesn’t provide unnecessary information.
How many questions should I add in one task ?
There should be one question or prompt per task, after the prompt you should also include the response to said prompt, and the corresponding explanation.
The training mentioned no 1st or 2nd person in the explanation, however one of the good examples used 1st person in the explanation? Could we receive clarification on this?
This is correct, as per the guidelines training 1st and 2nd person should not be used. This will be corrected in the example.
How do we structure the open-ended questions? Do we put up the prompt, without options, and then give a response?
Restructuring open-ended questions will take some creativity. Making the questions into a multiple choice question format may assist you with this matter. However, please be mindful MCQ’s should only be done for less than 10% of your prompts, for example 1 in every 20 tasks.
Can I have a screenshot of a section with the text in the textbook?
You will now be provided with approved images and are no longer required to source them yourself. However, the images should still be assessed for quality and adjusted as needed to meet those quality requirements.
Any screenshot used should only be for an image (charts and graphics are considered images). You cannot use images that only show text. Furthermore, you cannot use images in the prompts / questions, responses and explanations, these must always be in text.
How does the image selecting process work again?
You will be provided with an appropriate image with which to construct your prompt.
How do I use the math equation option?
You can select the math equation logo on the right of the format options, on top of the response field. (see image below)
Can I copy and paste the equations?
It’s better to use the math builder from FTS. This might prevent some errors later.
Can we reference other books or conduct online research as help when creating the explanation?
Yes, you can help yourself with books on the matter. However, it is not permitted the use of any generative AI, this could result in removal from this project.
How do I communicate with the team if I have questions regarding production?
Please reach out to our support team at: community_support@telusinternational.ai
Is there a minimum and maximum number of tasks that we need to complete from a textbook once I start Production?
No, as a freelancer, your hours are flexible. Unless established by the project team, there is no min or max production required. However, please note your Project Marvel project team may reach out to encourage more production as needed.
What should be the Average Handle Time for each task?
The average handle time per maker is 40 minutes per tasks, but we are aiming for quality over quantity, so we can understand if some task might take a bit longer
What happens if I exceed the 40 minutes (Makers)/10 minutes (Reviewers & QC) average time per task?
If you exceed the 40/10 minutes per task, we will work with you closely to see why it happened and proceed with coaching.
What is the maximum number of hours I can work per week?
We aim for a life-work balance, so we recommend a maximum of 40 hours per week.
Any restriction to do tasks only in the country we are primarily located and recruited?
From a payment perspective, we can only process and render your payment in the country you applied from. With this understanding, we recommend staying in the country from where you apply, to avoid any later troubles with the payment.
I have a planned trip coming up, should I stop working, or can I work while traveling abroad?
If you have a trip coming up, you're able to work temporarily from another location abroad. However, keep in mind that this is only temporary, and the compensation will be the same rate from your initial home country.
Would 5 to 10 hours a week be okay?
Absolutely
How can we communicate with the project team if we have issues and problems?
Please reach out to our support team at: community_support@telusinternational.ai
Are there any platforms similar to Slack or Discord that we can use to communicate our doubts and receive updates?
Once you are added to production, you will receive our project support email address for reaching out with any questions. You can communicate with our team via this form for any pre-production questions.
What should I do if I need to take time off?
If you are going to take some time off, you should contact us and inform us of the period of time you will be out. And our team will register that you are on time off.
Would I lose my spot as a contributor if I take some time off?
No, if you inform the team that you will be taking some time off, we will register this as such. However, if you take the time off without informing the team, we might remove you due to inactivity.
How can I resign?
If you don’t wish to participate in this project anymore, you can contact our team and inform them about your resignation.
