Overview

AI Chat to PDF is a Chrome extension that exports AI chat conversations to PDF. We are committed to your privacy. This policy explains exactly what data is and is not accessed, stored, or transmitted.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. Specifically:

•        No personal information is collected, stored, or transmitted

•        No conversation content is sent to any server

•        No analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind is used

•        No account creation or login is required

•        No cookies are set

How the Extension Works

When you click Export to PDF, the extension:

•        Checks whether the current browser tab is a supported AI chat platform

•        If supported, injects a one-time extraction function into that tab

•        The function reads the conversation text from the page's HTML structure

•        A new browser window is opened containing a formatted print document

•        Your browser's native print dialog is triggered so you can save as PDF

All of this happens entirely within your browser. No data leaves your device at any point.

Permissions Used

activeTab

Used to read the URL of the current tab to determine whether it is a supported platform (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or DeepSeek). This permission is active only while the extension popup is open.

scripting

Used to execute a content-extraction function inside the active tab when you click Export to PDF. This function reads the conversation's visible text and structure from the page. It runs only on the four supported domains, only when you explicitly trigger it, and produces no side effects.

Host Permissions

The extension is granted access to chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com, claude.ai, and chat.deepseek.com. These permissions are required by Chrome to allow the scripting API to operate on those pages. The extension does not access any other websites.

Third-Party Services

The PDF print document loads the Google Fonts stylesheet (fonts.googleapis.com) purely for typography. This is a standard CSS request with no JavaScript execution. Google's own privacy policy governs that request. No other third-party services are contacted.

Data Storage

This extension does not use chrome.storage, localStorage, cookies, or any other persistence mechanism. No data persists between sessions.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this document. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
