# Privacy Policy – AI Chat Exporter

AI Chat Exporter helps users capture, select, preview, and save supported AI conversations locally on their device.
## 1. Information the extension processes
When you explicitly start the extension to capture a supported conversation, it may process:
- Conversation messages and other visible conversation content
- Headings, links, code blocks, tables, and images where available
- Attachment metadata where available
- The title and URL of the open conversation
- The AI platform being used
- Conversation identifiers where available
Conversation content may include personal or sensitive information that you chose to enter into the AI service. The extension processes that content only to provide its capture, selection, preview, recovery, and export features.
## 2. Local processing
Captured conversation content is processed locally in your browser. AI Chat Exporter does not upload chat messages, conversation titles, URLs, captured content, or exported files to a developer-operated server.
Files you create with the extension are saved locally or to a destination you choose.
## 3. Information stored locally
The extension may store information in your browser profile to provide its features, including:
- Extension settings
- Recent capture and recovery state
- Locally captured conversation content
- Conversation identity and timestamp metadata
- Export usage information
- Pro license key and license status
This information remains in your browser profile unless it is replaced, cleared through available browser or extension controls, or removed when you uninstall the extension or clear its browser data.
## 4. Purchases and license validation
Purchases are handled through Lemon Squeezy’s hosted checkout. The extension does not collect or process your payment card details.
If you enter a Pro license key, the extension sends that key to Lemon Squeezy’s license validation service to check or restore the license. The key and license status are stored locally in your browser. The extension may contact Lemon Squeezy again to revalidate the license.
Lemon Squeezy processes purchase and license information under its own privacy policy and terms. Chat messages, conversation titles, URLs, captured content, and exported files are not sent to Lemon Squeezy by the extension.
## 5. Sharing and sale of information
AI Chat Exporter does not sell user information.
The extension does not share captured conversation content with advertisers or data brokers. Content leaves the extension only when you choose to copy, save, or export it to a destination you select. License validation requests are sent to Lemon Squeezy as described above.
## 6. Advertising and profiling
AI Chat Exporter does not use captured conversation content for advertising, behavioral profiling, creditworthiness assessments, lending decisions, or unrelated marketing purposes.
## 7. Browser permissions
The extension uses these Chrome permissions:
**activeTab**
Provides temporary access to the active tab after you explicitly start the extension.
**scripting**
Runs the extension’s packaged capture code in the active tab you selected, so it can capture the conversation you requested.
**https://api.lemonsqueezy.com/**
Used only to validate or restore a Pro license. The extension does not request persistent access to ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini through this host permission.
## 8. Remote code
All executable JavaScript used by AI Chat Exporter is included in the extension package. The extension does not load or execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly.
## 9. Data retention and deletion
Locally stored extension information remains in your browser profile until it is replaced, cleared through available browser or extension controls, or removed when you uninstall the extension or clear its browser data.
Exported files remain under your control in the location where you saved them. Lemon Squeezy’s retention of purchase or license information is governed by Lemon Squeezy’s own policies.
## 10. Supported services
AI Chat Exporter supports conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. These services may change their interfaces, which can affect compatibility.
AI Chat Exporter is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
## 11. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the extension’s features or data practices change. Material changes will be reflected in an updated version of this policy.
