The project “AI-CARE: Artificial Intelligence for Critical Awareness, Responsibility and Ethics through a Collaborative Approach” is an initiative of the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA), developed within the framework of its Academic Innovation Manual. Its mission is to empower students to critically understand the social impact of artificial intelligence, to become ethically conscious thinkers, and to develop the skills needed to reflect on and address the ethical challenges posed by AI technologies.
Built upon a collaborative and interdisciplinary philosophy, the project brings together five European universities. This partnership not only enhances students’ teamwork and cross-cultural communication, but also promotes an educational environment where critical thinking and ethical responsibility take center stage.
What defines AI-CARE is its commitment to fostering a deep, reflective understanding of artificial intelligence, not only as a technological tool, but as a transformative social force. The project encourages students to become responsible digital citizens, capable of analyzing the ethical implications of AI and contributing to a more equitable and transparent technological future.
Ultimately, AI-CARE is defined by its aspiration to build a community of learners and educators who approach artificial intelligence with critical awareness, ethical integrity and a sense of shared responsibility.
