This winter program supports athletes preparing for the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m events by laying the foundation required for their best performances in the late spring. We prioritize long-term progress rather than fast early season results. The goal is to help student-athletes build strength, increase fitness, and develop speed gradually so they continue to improve as races get more competitive in their spring track season.
Training includes steady aerobic work, longer sustained runs, and consistent but manageable speed development. This balanced approach prepares student-athletes to enter the spring season healthy, confident, and ready to produce their strongest times when the championship races arrive.
