Austin High School Ultimate Team

Ultimate at Austin High School is a club sport open to any high school student in Austin! Ultimate (also sometimes referred to as Ultimate Frisbee) is a  fun and growing sport with a great group of kids who love to compete and strive to create a successful team. All skill levels are welcome! Teams assume no prior knowledge and are happy to introduce any players to the sport.

Also, here's how timing works in the TUSC Spring League.

Students interested in joining Ultimate can come to  practice at any time, no tryouts required. There are some potential costs associated with Ultimate, but players can join practice and try Ultimate Frisbee before committing to any costs. Costs may include:


USA Ultimate Youth Membership: $40.00 (or $20.00 if new player)

Tournament Fees: Varies $10-$20 ($20 for state) expect 1-3 tournaments per year

Hotel Costs: Varies - estimate of $25-50 per player

Jersey & Shorts: $69 for dark jersey, $48 for light jersey, $49 for shorts

Spring League: $260.00 per player but sliding scale options and scholarships are available

Food/Drink/Gas: TBD

All players need cleats, due to the safety issues created by playing without them. Lacrosse or football wide-receiver cleats are recommended, as they are more durable than soccer cleats, however soccer cleats also work well (especially if players play both). Make sure the cleats do not have metal spikes.


Additionally, players are encouraged to have a disc of their own. The standard disc used in play is the Discraft Ultrastar. They are fairly cheap and can be purchased here: https://www.discraft.com/ultimate/ultimate/
