I have always been an avid reader and throughout my education, I began to enjoy the ability to communicate through the written word. Though ELA can be a challenging subject, it can open opportunities to learn about many different cultures while also exploring your own. I love teaching because I get to share the inspiring and life-altering experience of learning about others with students.
I graduated from Berry College in Rome, Georgia with a B.A. in English and Secondary Education. I also had a TEFL Minor and ESOL Endorsement in order to become a Certified ESOL Educator. I began teaching English Language Learners several years ago through a non-profit that offered night classes to adults. I also taught in Chinandega, Nicaragua at the Amigos Academy for several months. These experiences have taught me more than I have ever taught a student and I am thankful for each individual student because they inspire me.
Teaching is my passion but I also enjoy playing sports and going on road trips with my friends. After teaching at Rome High School, my husband, Walter, and I moved to Roswell in May 2022 and love this area. I started teaching ESOL at Alpharetta High School in the fall of 2022.
