Teacher Bio

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to school year 2023-2024! I am so excited to be one of your ESOL teachers for this academic year. This is my 5th year at Alpharetta High School (AHS). Although it is my 5th year in AHS, it is certainly not my first year in Education. I started my journey about 20 years ago. First, I worked for Cobb County Schools as a Spanish Interpreter, and also had a part time position in the Counseling Office as a Guidance Clerk. I worked in these positions while I studied for my teacher certification.  Once I obtained my teaching certificate, I started working as a  Spanish Teacher at middle and high schools.  I taught Spanish for 7 years.

After almost 10 years with Cobb County, I wanted a change, so I transitioned to Fulton County Schools, ESOL Department. I started as an ESOL Parent Liaison at River Eves Elementary. In this position I worked with parents and students from other countries.  It was very rewarding to help students and their families. However, I wanted to work closer with ESOL students. Three years later, I found this wonderful opportunity to teach ESOL students at AHS. My primary role is to help students communicate better in English - reading and writing. I also help students and families to understand the American Education System.

This is going to be an awesome school year. Don't hesitate to contact me for any of your needs. If I can't help you, I will direct to someone who can. You will be taken care of at AHS!!

I look forward to working with each of you!

Ms. Bass
