Andrzej Fretschel-Hojarski
Andrzej Fretschel-Hojarski, Ph.D.
A proud Polish-American native of Milwaukee, A. F. Hojarski has taught courses in literature and literary theory, pedagogy, EFL (English as a Foreign Language), EAP (English for Academic Purposes), FLE (français langue étrangère), and Latin in both Europe and the United States. He has published two books-English for University: A Selection of Exercises for Intermediate Students (2022) and Among the Outsiders: Studies in Scapegoat Figure Typologies (2025)-as well as articles in international journals. His research interests include mimetic theory and scapegoating (René Girard), the work of John Steinbeck, and the sociology of the novel. Additionally, he hosts workshops and seminars for teachers, focusing on the use of literary texts, especially short stories, in the foreign language classroom. In his spare time, he enjoys visiting museums, collecting antique silver, and spending time in nature with his French Bulldog.
He is currently Assistant Professor at the Institute of English Studies in Cracow, Poland.
