Prof.(Dr). Ayaz Hassan Moon is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering ,Dean School of Engineering & Technology ,Director IT&SS and Project Coordinator TEQIP at Islamic University of Science and Technology,Awantipora, Pulwama,Kashmir. Earlier he has served as Scientist-G & Executive Director at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Srinagar/Jammu, an institution under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, (MeitY) Govt. of India. He completed his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Regional Engineering College, Srinagar in 1980; Post-graduate diploma in Electronics design and Technology from IISc Banglore(1982) and M.Tech in Electronics Design and Technology from IISc Bangalore (1993). He obtained h is Ph.D from the department of Electronics and Instrumentation, Kashmir University (2016). Research Problem: Improving Authentication and data Integrity Techniques and protocols for Security of Data Acquisition in wireless Sensor Networks (WSN).
Overall he has an experience of over 34 years in various fields including 6 years in the Electronics Industry and t he rest in Administering Technical Organisation, IT-HRD, Academics, Capacity building, Consultancy, Advisory and R&D. He has participated and presented papers both at the international and national conferences on many occasions. Represented India on two occasions to present India Country report on “Mutual Recognition of IT qualification among APEC countries” in SIVAT,Seoul, South Korea organized by HRD Korea (20 06) and in Tokyo, Japan organized by IPA Japan (2011).
He has been involved in the execution of various projects to the extent of Rs 1000 crores in the last ten years at NIELIT. As an IT advisor, he has been actively involved in the appraisal/technical evaluation of e-Governance projects in J& K state including SWAN, SDC, and CCTNS, Traffic lights in Srinagar and Jammu cities along with capacity building of Govt. and corporate Employe’s. Has been actively associated in expanding NIELIT Network and pioneering e-literacy at the grass root level in J&K and Uttarakhand states. H e has been Chief Investigator for IECT projects, most recent being Smart Class Room Project of J&K Education department, Cap acity building in ESDM, setting-up of Computer Forensics Lab, NPR project, R&D projects on Wireless Sensor Networks, Rural Trainings for employability in J&K State, Repair and maintenance of Hospital equipment labs both at Srinagar and Jammu, setting up of NIELIT Sub-centre at Leh, model career counseling-cum-guidance centre at Srinagar and Leh. He serves on Academic boards of Universities, apart from being a member of J&K e-Governance agency, member task-force on e-Governance implementation in Sheri-Kashmir Agriculture University, Member IEEE , Fellow IETE , NAAC Assessor.
