About

I am an associate professor in the Electronics and Communications Engineering department, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University. I have joint Zewail City for Science and Technology, as an adjunct professor from 2016 to 2018.  In 2014, I worked as a post-doctor researcher at the Bioengineering department, University of Louisville, KY, USA. My major research interests include medical signal and image analysis, machine and deep learning, and wireless communications. I have authored or co-authored more than 30 journal articles, 7 book chapters, and 35 peer-reviewed conference papers. The articles have appeared in world-renown journals including Scientific Reports, Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology, IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering. I am a reviewer for top international medical signal analysis journals that include: Medical Image Analysis, IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (TMI), IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (TIP), and Journal of Neurocomputing (Elseveir). In 2013, I have awarded the John M. Houchens Prize for Outstanding Dissertation. In March 2018, my proposal was accepted for the USAID scholarship for post-doctoral research in the USA. In April 2019, I have awarded the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Award for Teaching. In 2020, I have awarded the Mansoura University Engineering Encouragement award for distinguished young professors. I have also received the State Encouragement Award in Science and Advanced Technology (In Engineering Fields) for the year 2019.
