Abigail Herring is an emerging interdisciplinary artist whose practice centers on human connection, emotion, and physicality. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she developed a deep appreciation for creative expression at an early age and has continued to cultivate that passion throughout her academic and professional journey. She attended Renaissance School for the Arts and received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Studio Art from William Paterson. There, she studied under accomplished artists including Robin Schwartz, James Blasi, and Eileen Foti.
In her fine arts practice, Herring draws inspiration from modern masters such as Henri Matisse, Vanessa Raw, and Georgia O’Keeffe, creating work that emphasizes raw emotion, organic form, and embodied experience. Her approach reflects a commitment to both conceptual depth and visual impact.
Herring has also developed extensive professional experience in nonprofit and arts organizations. She has interned with the Monira Foundation, Miller Art Museum and the Teaneck Creek Conservancy, gaining valuable experience in arts administration, community engagement, and nonprofit operations. During her time at the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, she co-curated the exhibition Sequestered Shadows alongside photographer and curator Suzanne Rose. With experience spanning curation, marketing, social media strategy, and nonprofit programming, Herring continues to seek opportunities that expand her creative practice and professional impact.
