The following changes are being implemented in 2026 (V9).
Many of these changes have been in the pipeline for over 15 years (Basic Knife) and over 10 years (Sparring Drills).
These changes are necessary to adapt to the increasing threat (and danger) of knife attacks in our society and to ensure our students know how to spar safely, with skill, purpose and control.

Added information about new sparring drills to Concepts and Principles.
Added new drills to each belt - Part 1 - White Belt to Blue Tip - Part 2 to be released in the future.
Removed old sparring drills - Yellow Tip and Blue Belt - they have been incorporated into the new drills.
Introduce new 6-cut drill to Green Tip (cuts only) and Blue Tip (defend and pass).
Introduce Tapi-Tapi partner drill to Red Tip (high - low - middle)
Removed Demo style knife defence techniques from Red-Tip.
Added C6 Fan Lock from Cross Hand Grab to the beginning of the drill.
Changed entry to C5 Corkscrew and finish.
Final technique is a downwards C2 Elbow Knife hand - they go down onto stomach (no cat roll).
Moved from 1st Dan to various colour belts where the relevant Core Technique is taught.
Moved down from 1st Dan Black Belt to Black Tip.
Moved down from 1st Dan Black Belt to Red Belt.
9 Strikes, and 3 Drawing movements.
Removed - unrealistic.
Removed basic techniques that students already know - like Jab-Cross Turning Kick.
Moved to Part 2 Sparring Drills - to be released in the future.
Moved down from from 2nd Dan.
New pole pattern developed by Grandmaster Geister.
Kneeling versions preferred - standing optional if cannot do kneeling version.
Removed last 3 Arresting Techniques (unrealistic).
Added option to study Silla Gumdo syllabus - 3 short-form patterns - videos available.
