The new Academic Year AY 2025-2026 opens on July 21 and closes on November 21, 2025.
AGS currently offers training in 7 programs:
Biblical Studies
Counseling
Christian Education
Family Studies
Pastoral Studies
Theological Studies, and
Youth Studies.
All of them can be taken as ecclesiastical degrees: Master of Ministry (45 to 64 units), Graduate Diploma (24 to 27 units), or Graduate Certificate (12 to 18 units). Ecclesiastical degrees are designed with church ministry needs in mind and are recognized by various denominations. Two other certificate programs–Spiritual Formation and Trauma and Crisis Management—are offered when there are enrollees of at least 10 students.
Aside from ecclesiastical programs, what other programs does AGS offer?
Civil programs are CHEd or government-recognized programs whereas ecclesiastical degrees are not CHEd-recognized but are approved by AGS’s mother denomination, the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines.
The ff are the civil programs:
Master in Counseling (64 units non-thesis; add 6 units of Bible or theology if applicant has no Bible school background)
Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (57 units; 60 if applicant has no Bible school background)
Master of Arts in Christian Education (63 units for thesis track; 66 units for non-thesis)
Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies (66 units)
Master of Divinity in Christian Education (81 units)
Master of Divinity in Pastoral Studies (81 units)
In compliance with CHEd MO 15 s. 2019, we have current applications with CHEd for curriculum revision for the ff: (no approval yet)
Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (with thesis and publication requirement)
Master in Biblical Studies (with capstone project)
Master of Arts in Christian Education (with thesis and publication requirement)
Master of Arts in Pastoral Leadership (with capstone project)
How do I know if I can enrol in a CHEd-recognized program?
To qualify for a civil degree, your college degree must also be CHED-recognized or from a school that is given autonomous status by CHED (like a state university or one of the big universities in the Philippines.)
Can I study online?
Those who are studying for an ecclesiastical degree are allowed to study online for their entire program. Those who are studying for a civil degree must abide by CHEd regulations of at least 50% class hours to be attended onsite. This limits enrolment for civil programs to those in NCR or the provinces with proximity to NCR.
For Pastoral Studies, Christian Education, and the Biblical Studies programs, we plan to open hybrid classes in which students not living in NCR who enrol for major courses can come for one week per semester to AGS to attend 15-20 hours onsite. The rest of class hours will be online. When you apply, please indicate if you are willing to come to AGS one week per semester.
We are in the process of applying for a tuition fee increase for incoming freshmen this coming school year. When CHEd approves this, then that will be the tuition fee structure we will charge. The increase is approximately 12 to 15% higher than our current fees.
(as per CHED-approved tuition and other school fees, year 2016)

Some fees are fixed per sem while others are computed per unit.

Applicants without a bachelor’s degree can take as many units as they can pass but are limited to earning only the Diploma degree which is an ecclesiastical degree.
If you need a civil degree, the best step is for you to pursue a CHEd-recognized college degree first then come to AGS. You may also consider ETEEAP (Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program) through AGS.
For Counseling, students without any Bible school background are required to take an additional six (6) units of Bible/Theology. Your program director will explain it to you in more detail.
Twelve (12) units is already considered full-load. A student can enroll in 3 units per sem as long as his/her studies will not exceed the Minimum Residency Rule (MRR) of 8 years in M.A. and 10 yrs in M.Div.
There is no MRR for certificate and diploma programs. It will, however, be applied if the student decides to upgrade to a masteral degree. The MRR starts the very first semester students first enrol at AGS.
Yes, for a maximum of three (3) sessions. The Faculty must inform the Registrar’s Office during enrolment or a week before the intended class. Sit-in fee is P400/session. If a person wants to enrol in the course, he/she has to decide after 3 sessions. Otherwise, he/she will have to enrol in the course again (and pay tuition) in the future to credit for it.
For Counseling and Family Studies courses, a written consent must be emailed by the faculty to put on record if the “sit-in” can participate in a class or join a group discussion, especially in counseling classes which can deal with confidential matters.
If enough students need an evening or Saturday schedule, this can be arranged subject to faculty availability.
On a case-to-case basis. Submit your transcript, course syllabus and sample written work in the course you wish to be validated.
No scholarship is given to first year students. The student must have a track record of excellence first. The scholarship policy can be read in the AGS Student Handbook.
For transactions with the Registrar’s or Academic office, it is best to schedule an appointment either through FB messenger or email (registrar@ags.edu.ph).
