This site aims to collect information about the Agrion 650 sailboat  that could be of interest to (prospective) owners. There is also a discussion group (see under Links).

The Agrion 650 was designed by Georges Auzepy-Brenneur, and first produced in 1991. It was a forward looking design, with a completely vertical bow, a flat aft section and a fully battened mainsail.  It looked futuristic in the 1990s, now modern  and up-to-date. The boat is quick for its size and fun to sail. The cabin offers seating headroom and bunk space for even the tallest people.

The Agrion 650 fits in the Mini650 or Minitransat class or family of boats . Its beam is less than that of the more competitive Mini650s. The standard Agrion 650 also has a shorter mast, shallower keel and less sail area.

There standard Agrion 650 comes in two versions, one with a centerboard and water ballast,  and one with a fixed keel. The boats were first produced by Agrion Marine in Belgium, and later by Soubise Plaisance in France.  The main difference seems that the Belgian boats were unsinkable as standard feature (according to the sales literature).

According to Pierre-Jean, a total of 17 boats were produced, 9 in Belgium and 8 in France ( https://bateau.ouest-atlantis.com/agrion-650.html )

For a performance indicator, we can turn to the Dutch SW-rating system: 108 . The Agrion has the same SW-rating as the substantially bigger First 25, First 26 and  Jouet 26.
