The project unfolds new and exciting horizons of research in the field of Agricultural AI. We have researchers from Pakistan and Germany. Experts from the field of Agriculture, Food Security and Water Efficiency among Government, Industry and Academia are collaborating in this event.
AGRARIAN is a series of workshops initiated with the 1st Pak-German AGRARIAN Workshop held in July 2024 in Offenburg, Germany.
The 2nd Pak-German AGRARIAN Workshop was held on 17 December 2024 in Lahore, Pakistan.
The 3rd Pak-German AGRARIAN Workshop was held on 14 September 2025 in Lahore, Pakistan.
In June 2024, Dr. Asim and Dr. Yasir visited Hochschule Offenburg and conducted soil-based experiments using samples collected from Germany. The research lab in HSO Offenburg was visited and the research work being done on antennas and radars was observed. Combined experiments were carried out by Pakistani and German researchers.
Two LUMS students participated in the exchange semester in Winter 2024-25 in HSO Germany, contributing to research activities at Hochschule Offenburg.
Dr. Yasir along with his team conducted field trips in Pakistan for soil experimentation and sample collection during 2024 and 2025. Field tests were performed in two provinces of Pakistan, namely Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Both of the provinces have different soils and different types of crops. Punjab has very large crop fields and provides most of the food for the country. KP is famous for its fruit orchards and small crop fields. Dr. Masroor was the local scientist who helped in field tests.
Prof. Marlene visited LUMS in September 2025 to review progress and discuss ongoing collaborations.
A joint research visit by Dr. Yasir, Dr. Asim, Noor Ul Hassan, and Quratulain to Hochschule Offenburg was conducted in 2025 to perform further experiments and data analysis.
