• AGM OpenBuds 1 — biggest strength: Active Noise Cancellation, a digital battery display for both earbuds and case, TWS auto left-right recognition, Bluetooth 5.4 and a 2-year warranty. That is the most feature-complete package of the two.
• AGM OpenBuds 1 — biggest trade-off: 8 hours per charge and 40 hours with the case, which trails the CoolJumper's total. The U-shaped hook is also a firmer, more "clipped-on" feel than a soft silicone clip.
• CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds — biggest strength: Just 5.1 grams per earbud, a 16.3mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 6.1, and up to 50 hours total with the case. The glasses-friendly, zero-pressure design is the standout detail.
• CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds — biggest trade-off: Passive noise cancellation only — no active ANC. You get awareness of your surroundings, not isolation from them.
• Who each pick is for: AGM OpenBuds 1 suits the buyer who wants noise cancelling on demand, a longer single-charge session and a longer warranty. CoolJumper suits the glasses wearer who wants the lightest possible all-day clip and the longest total battery life.
The AGM OpenBuds 1 is the more "spec-heavy" of the two. It runs Bluetooth 5.4 with a 33-foot range, a 20 Hz – 20,000 Hz dynamic driver, and — the detail that matters most here — Active Noise Cancellation. That is unusual in an open-ear clip design, because open-ear buds are normally built around letting sound in. AGM's answer is to give you the choice: leave ANC off and hear traffic, or switch it on and cut down the drone of a gym, a train carriage or an open-plan office. Controls are touch-based, and the charging case has a digital display showing real-time battery levels for both the earbuds and the case itself, so you are never guessing.
Battery is where you need to be honest with yourself. AGM quotes 8 hours on a single charge and 40 hours total with the case, with a 2-hour charge time. That is genuinely good for a single session — a long run, a full workday, a cross-country flight — but it sits below the CoolJumper's total figure. If you are the kind of person who leaves the case at home and just wants one earbud in for a whole afternoon, AGM's single-charge number is the one that counts.
Build-wise, this is an open-ear hook design in plastic and silicone, in Mystic Purple. It is sweatproof and water-resistant (AGM lists the water resistance level as waterproof), which covers rain, splashes and hard workouts. TWS pairing with automatic left-right recognition means you can pull one bud out and use it solo without re-pairing — handy for calls.
Buy it if you want ANC on demand, a battery readout you can actually see, a 2-year warranty, and you mostly listen in 4–8 hour blocks. Skip it if you wear glasses and worry about the hook pressing against your temples, or if total case battery is your number one metric.
The CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds are built around one idea: make the clip disappear. Each earbud is 5.1 grams, and CoolJumper explicitly engineered the clip structure to sit against your ear without conflicting with glasses temples. If you wear glasses all day — and a lot of open-ear buyers do — that is the single most useful thing on this spec sheet. The enclosure is skin-friendly silicone in Crystal Silver, and the design rests outside the ear canal rather than inside it, which is what kills the pressure and fatigue you get from in-ear buds.
The audio hardware is the other headline: a 16.3mm large dynamic driver, which is a big driver for this category. CoolJumper pairs it with call noise reduction optimisation, so voice pickup stays clear in noisy places — think calls, podcasts and GPS navigation rather than critical listening. Bluetooth is 6.1, the newer generation of the two, and CoolJumper claims optimised anti-interference and stronger signal penetration, which in plain terms should mean fewer dropouts and less latency in crowded wireless environments.
Battery is 5–6 hours per charge and up to 50 hours total via the charging case, which also has a digital display and Type-C charging. That total is the longest here. Note the noise control is passive, not active — there is no ANC mode. That is the trade-off of the open design: you hear your surroundings, which is exactly what some runners and cyclists want and exactly what others don't. Warranty is listed as 1 year, shorter than AGM's.
Buy it if you wear glasses, want the lightest clip, care about total battery life, and prefer natural awareness over noise cancelling. Skip it if you need active noise cancellation or a longer warranty.
• Best for active noise cancellation → AGM OpenBuds 1. It is the only one of the two with Active Noise Cancellation.
• Best for total battery life → CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds. Up to 50 hours with the case versus AGM's 40.
• Best for long single sessions → AGM OpenBuds 1. 8 hours on one charge versus CoolJumper's 5–6.
• Best for glasses wearers → CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds. The zero-pressure, temple-friendly clip is designed specifically for it.
• Best for the lightest fit → CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds. 5.1 grams per earbud.
• Best for audio hardware → CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds. A 16.3mm dynamic driver is a larger driver than AGM's spec sheet implies.
• Best for newer Bluetooth → CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds. Bluetooth 6.1 beats 5.4 on paper.
• Best for warranty and battery visibility → AGM OpenBuds 1. A 2-year warranty and a case display showing both earbud and case levels.
• Best for workouts in the rain → AGM OpenBuds 1. Sweatproof and water-resistant with a waterproof rating.
In my opinion, the CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds are the better buy for most people shopping open-ear clip buds. The 5.1-gram weight, the glasses-friendly design, the 16.3mm driver and the 50-hour total battery all point at the thing open-ear buyers actually care about: wearing them all day without noticing them. I would only steer you to the AGM OpenBuds 1 if active noise cancellation is non-negotiable, if you need 8 hours in one stretch, or if the 2-year warranty matters to you. Both are legitimate open-ear TWS options — the decision is really ANC and single-charge stamina versus weight, glasses comfort and total battery.
Both are open-ear clip designs, so you do not push them into your ear canal. The clip hooks over the outer ear and the driver sits just outside the canal. AGM uses a U-shaped ergonomic hook; CoolJumper uses a silicone clip contoured for glasses temples. Rest them on the ear, adjust until they feel stable, and check the sound is aimed at your ear.
Pair once over Bluetooth, then the buds reconnect automatically. AGM uses touch controls for play, pause, skip, volume and calls. Both support TWS pairing, and AGM adds automatic left-right recognition so you can use a single earbud alone. For calls, CoolJumper's call noise reduction optimisation helps with voice pickup in noisy places.
The "opening" is usually just lifting the lid of the charging case and taking the buds out — that triggers them to wake and reconnect. Both cases here include a digital display showing battery level, so you can check charge before you head out. CoolJumper's case charges over Type-C.
They differ. The AGM OpenBuds 1 has Active Noise Cancellation, so you can reduce background noise when you want to. The CoolJumper Clip-on Ear Earbuds use passive noise cancellation only — they are designed to let ambient sound through, which is safer for outdoor running and cycling but means less isolation.
