I am a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the Biodiversity Research Institute (IMIB), a joint research centre of CSIC-University of Oviedo-Principality of Asturias (Spain).

My Research

My research career has focused on the study of the effects of fire and forest management on ecosystems, with a special interest in soil degradation processes. Current research interests:

• Wildland fire effects on soil physical, chemical, and biological properties

• Assessment, mitigation, and modelling of post-fire soil erosion

• The role of post-fire soil erosion in the carbon cycle
