"Ocean Engineering Special Achievement Award" was awarded to team members for their contributions to the Aggie Ocean Discovery Team.
Announced as one of the world’s top 9 teams competing in the Shell XPRIZE®, based on a demonstration of developed technology. The team shared a $1 million milestone award with 8 other teams, collecting $111,111.11 in London at Oceanology International 2018.
This week, the students took a trip to Oceaneering's facilities in Louisiana to discuss the development and design of their new Marlin AUV.

Aggie OD is hosting a seminar to discuss the future of subsea technology related to the "Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE" and have invited Industry Representatives to view and comment on the latest technology.
This week, The Aggie Ocean Discovery XPRIZE met in Houston to tour Deep Down's facilities and discuss system design.
Texas A&M Ocean Engineering students have put together a multi-national team and entered for a chance of winning the “Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE,” a global competition, that comes with a prize purse of $7 million dollars, of which $4 million will be awarded to the team that garners first place.
